Backyard Oktoberfest Review:
Pours a dark clear amber with a slight head. Smells of sweet bread with caramel and toffee notes along side floral hops and a touch of spice. Tastes of deep roasty malt character balances with European hops. The mouthfeel is relevantly light carbonation and smooth drinkability.
Probably an overall favorite. If beer was fantasy football this draft would be drafted first round, if not first pick overall. Its caramel notes are subtle but smooth. Small hops, great smooth malt and a bit lack luster aroma. Spaten's Oktoberfest IS Oktoberfest. Prost!
This beer has a much nicer mouthfeel. It has some creaminess to it at first but finishes clean. Has a good märzen taste. Pairs well with salty foods such as cheese, pretzels and sausage.

Head leaves quickly, more mild aroma, less floral than Paulaner. Less sweet and more balanced. Good lacing, light copper in color. One of my personal favorites as I began the fest in Munich with this beer.
A little bitter taste but would be a good beer to cook brats or sausage
