We had a balloon popping game like you see at the carnival. This year we ran it as a tournament. If you miss, you are out. The winner was presented with an Old Style stein! After the tournament, prizes were awarded to those who could pop a remaining balloon.

We purchased another milk can for the milk can toss game. The goal is to get a 16" softball into the can. Since the cans had different sized openings, players had to alternate cans after each toss. It sounds easy but it is surprisingly difficult.

This year's Oktoberfest was a little bit of a challenge since we moved to a new house and we had to come up with a new layout. We also had to battle the heat since it was almost 90 degrees (average is 75). The ceremonial barrel was sacrificed so that we could put up fans in the tent. One plus side is that the new house offers a large garage with air conditioning. We were able to set up all of the food on a large buffet in the garage and provide a cool place for out guests to get our of the heat. We had around 65 guests brave the heat with us but it wasn't too bad because we had enough cold bier to go around.
